The Port Community
It is the Port of Cartagena Group’s employees who build a more competitive company every day. The company’s constant growth is the result of the union of talent, knowledge, and passion for what they do, which creates a synergy that is now evident in the outcome. The port knows that its people are the heart of the company and what sets it apart. They are the protagonists of its history and its main driver of development.
For this and other reasons, it has programs to promote the integral growth of all members of the work team. This strategy, which is part of the Training and Development Plan, is to strengthen the “work culture.”
It is made up of different lines that cover new processes, systems, and teams: the High Performance School, international training, organizational culture, digital competencies, and industry 4.0. All these lines of work are supported by individual action plans and career development related to personal and family growth.
As part of its philosophy of sustainability and competitiveness through the development of knowledge, the Port of Cartagena Group has strategically implemented tools to strengthen its leadership and maintain its position as a differentiating actor in a sector undergoing constant transformation. The commitment to this area is so strong that School was created in order to meet the sector’s demands for technical and human development. This space is authorized by the District's Secretary of Education as a center for work and human development.
Happy Port
Happiness is an overall experience of enjoyment and meaning. The Port of Cartagena Group understands that no one can give what they do not have. Therefore, it focuses its efforts on developing and encouraging happiness in each of its employees and work teams.
Since 2013, we have been working on the "Happy Company" culture, with annual campaigns - "Protagonists of Happiness" (2013), "The Magic of Happiness" (2014), "I Radiate Happiness" (2015), "Radiating Happiness" (2016, 2017, and 2018 ), "It’s cool to work here" (2019 to present). These campaigns involve simple activities that invite reflection on what it means to be happy. At the end of each space, people are expected to be able to incorporate the qualities of happy people in their daily work, which can be seen in behaviors such as: saying hello, saying thank you, expressing gratitude, smiling, being more productive, radiating happiness in their work teams, going through different processes regardless of the result, participating more actively in the activities, and being aligned with the concept of a Happy Company.
