For almost 500 years, the Bay of Cartagena has been the commercial gateway to the Americas. Thanks to its strategic location and privileged natural conditions, the Spanish in colonial times saw it as the perfect place to establish their main port, through which a great flow of merchandise transited between South America, the Caribbean, and Europe.

In order to contribute to the country’s development, the organization's operations in the area has driven strong industrial development over the last five years. More than 50 companies and industries are currently located in the bay, which has established itself as an economic cluster for the Caribbean and for Colombia.
